Objectives of Life Knowledge Park
The primary objectives of Life Knowledge Park are to develop:
- a distinctive programme of basic biotechnological research into genetic instability of relevance to future health care challenges in cancer, regenerative medicine and ageing
- a programme of basic and translational research aimed at placing the North East at the leading edge of stem cell therapeutics
- innovative approaches to public private partnership in delivery of genetic health care
- a supportive technological environment to encourage entrepreneurial innovation
- high profile education and public outreach through the partner institutions to expand the professional workforce, facilitate public appreciation and place the North East at the leading edge of international development in genetics, genomics and post genomic development.
